My name is Lenore Joseph and this year I will serve as the new secretary of the PTA. I am honored by this position and will give my all to it especially in this trying time. We are all in this together and we will get through it together. My daughter is in 4th grade at Morning Creek. I have been at Morning Creek since 2017, when my daughter started first grade with Mrs. Bassett. I joined the PTA when we started at MCES, because PTA supports teachers and parents, which in turn  benefits our kids in a great way.

My name is Dora Ramos and I'm really looking forward to helping our kids in the next year. This is my six year serving on the PTA board and I can say that it isn't easy, but has been very rewarding. I have three kids, Fernando in Junior, Sebastian in Freshman year both at MCHS  and Valeria in 3rd grade, as you can see I'll be helping MCES for a few years to come. One thing that I would like to do is make people aware of how much more impact we can make toward kids' education with the more volunteers we can have. I'm inviting you to join us and together we can make a huge difference.

My name is Serena Tran. I am honored to serve you as VP of Membership. My daughter is in second grade this year, however I have been an active classroom volunteer since her 3 year old preschool class with Mrs. Diane. Since then, I’ve volunteered as Art Mom, Chaperon for school field trips, and been involved in various school events. I joined MCES PTA because I want to make a valuable contribution to enrich the school programs for all the children at Morning Creek. Join us and make MCES a better school community for all.

I have two grandchildren at Morning Creek this year.  All three of my own children went through the Poway school district, at Pomerado Elementary, Meadowbrook, and Poway High, where I took on many volunteering roles as a mom in PTA, band, and sports.

Gitanjali Shinde

I have been at Morning Creek Elementary School since 2015 when my daughter started TK with Mrs. Jessica Klauda. I started my volunteering “career” as a room co-parent in TK and have now graduated to MCES PTA Treasurer this year.  I’ve also been involved with many other PTA programs like the classroom art program, student Science Fair, running club, and my personal favorite “Dance Night”. I am very excited to take on the role as PTA Treasurer. I have a background in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with my most recent position at San Diego County’s Flood Control District as budget manager and grant writer. I hope to bring the knowledge I’ve gained from these positions to help stretch the PTA  funds to make the most impact to our students.  I believe that a strong PTA builds a strong community. As the saying goes “It takes a village to raise a child”.

I grew up in Poway, and when it was time to raise my family, moved back here in large part because of the schools. I have two sons at Morning Creek, and appreciate the community, particularly in the last few challenging years.  I look forward to continuing some of the key Programs my kids have enjoyed at MCES such as Running Club, Multicultural Night, and Science Night.

My family have been with Poway Unified since 2004. I am a mom of four kids and I have been a PTA member/volunteer since my boys were in Kindergarten and they’re now sophomores in college. I love to volunteer because I want my kids to see that not only do I value their education but I also want to actively participate in making decisions that will impact our school and community.
